A cup of coffee is only as good as the quality of its beans, and even the best of beans can meet their demise with a poor roast. When done on an industrial scale, primitive roasters with limited controls are loaded with over 70 kilograms of beans at a time. Even the smallest deviance in temperature or miscalculation of timing can ruin over 7000 cups of coffee, squander the work of bean farmers, and cost companies millions of dollars in wasted product. Understanding the impact that testing roasts at a smaller scale could have on multiple sectors of the coffee industry, Profi was born.

Profi is a tabletop emulator of large-scale coffee roasters.
